Is your family looking for an escape that holds the perfect balance of engaged but flexible, active but relaxing? We’ve put together 3 days of kid-friendly highlights to show off the best of Seward. Arrive to your private, purposefully crafted A-frame cabin at Salted Roots, where you’ll have your own kitchen, living area, and space to sleep up to 6 people, all just steps from the water. Spend the evening tidepooling from your front door, and get a restful night’s sleep in preparation for tomorrow’s activities.
Meet your Seward Wilderness Collective guide in the morning for a drive up the Resurrection River Valley and short hike to Exit Glacier. Learn about the way this place is changing and keep an eye out for the stories told by the awe-inspiring landscape on this short, family-friendly hike. After exploring by foot in the morning, re-fuel at Resurrect Art, our community’s favorite gathering spot and best place for coffee, hot cocoa, and baked goods. With renewed energy, explore the Alaska Sea Life Center all afternoon, where Steller’s sea lions dive playfully and tufted puffins strut their stuff.
After another night in your cozy cabin, ideally situated just a few minutes walk from Lowell Point Beach, meet your Kayak Adventures guide for a Private Resurrection Bay Half Day Kayaking Tour. Taking young adventurers paddling is our favorite, and they’re often great at spotting seals, puffins, and eagles along the way. Head home with new memories from tidepools to glacial views, new inspiration to explore your own backyard, and new motivation as stewards of our wild places.
You’ll receive separate confirmation emails for your hiking and kayaking tours with specific information, packing lists, and check in details. Learn more here about the Exit Glacier Half Day Hike and Resurrection Bay Half Day Kayaking Tour.
Creative and innovative, Seward friends Matt and KellyAnn have created our dream lodging – purposefully-crafted, boutique A-frame cabins that accommodate groups of up to 6 people each. Learn more at Salted Roots.
